Reformation Lutheran Church - Greeneville, TN

Meet Our Church Staff

Pastor Jim DuMondPastor: Rev. Jim DuMond

Rev. Jim DuMond was born in Miami, Florida. He and his wife, Alice, have two daughters, Jennifer and Christine. After working in the business world for 14 years, he answered a call to the ministry and entered Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, S.C., and was ordained and installed as pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in August of 1998.

During Pastor Jim’s years at Redeemer, he was an active member of the Gaston Clergy and Citizens Coalition and the church was involved in a lot of outreach ministries including Family Promise, Habitat for Humanity, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Cornerstone Christian Ministry, The Shelter of Gaston County, retirement home worship services and visitation, a quilting ministry, and the local Backpack Weekend food program.

As Pastor Jim begins his ministry with the people of Reformation Lutheran Church, he looks forward to serving with them in the ministries of the congregation and in the surrounding communities of Greeneville and Greene County. He plans to be involved in the local ministerial association and to do everything that he can to support the schools and those ministries that help to build stronger and healthier families and that provide assistance to those needing a helping hand.

Pastor Jim believes that all Christians have been called by Christ to show forth his love and compassion for all God’s children, regardless of where they are in their faith journey. “The local congregation’s mission is to help people to hear Jesus’ word of life and to equip and encourage people to carry out the particular ministry they have been called to do in the church and community.”
